President of Christ To The Nations Ministries, a multifaceted Bible-teaching evangelical missionary organisation, Rev. David Sola Amosun, has called on the church to emphasise more on the gospel in order to end moral decadence among the youths.

Speaking to newsmen during his 60th birthday celebration in Ogun State, Amosun called on families and the government to also join hands with the church, as the church can not do it alone.

He said people had become too attached to materialism that they have forgotten about their creator.

“All it takes is a heart for God. If there is a heart for God, and a heart for humanity, God will surely show us His love. The world is becoming more corrupt everyday. The Bible made it clear in 2 Timothy:4, that in the last days, perilous times will come. But however, that is why God has sent us as light. If there is no darkness, there won’t be light. If there is no need for sweetness, then no need for salt. We are the salt of the earth. There is so much moral decadence in the world today. Even the house of God is not left out in this decay. The reason is because the heart of man is desperately wicked. The gospel of Christ is the only way, and we as men of God, should begin to teach that. We must bring back moral values. Families no longer live as families. Don’t forget that the family that comes together, prays together, stays together. We must begin to encourage religious leadership that will enhance and transform the heart of the people to do that which is right before God. We can’t achieve a greater Nigeria if we don’t have the heart of God. We, as men of God must take the driving wheel and change this country for good. The government must support the religious bodies that are preaching the message. The church too must wake up to its responsibility. The church should place more emphasis on the gospel than materialism. This is part of what is causing moral decadence, and the cure for this is the preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ,” he said.

In her goodwill message to the celebrant, Rev Mrs Adebisi Aboyeji, wife of the General Overseer of Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria, lauded Amosun for being a blessing to humanity, as she prayed God to bless and keep him so he can do more of God’s work.
