Among many meetings, Pillay visited the McGilvary College of Divinity, Chiang Mai International School, Dara Academy, and Payap University.
He also visited the Church of Christ in Thailand headquarters as well as the Christian Hospital in Bangkok, in addition to the Prince Royal’s College School.
Also on Pillay’s agenda were stops at McCormick Hospital, the Prince’s Museum, and the McGilvary College of Divinity.
“In Bangkok I met with the leadership of the Presbyterian Church of Christ in Thailand,” noted Pillay. “It was very enlightening to hear about the church’s ministry.”
Though comparatively small in numbers, Pillay noted the Presbyterian Church of Christ in Thailand is large in influence. “They have eight hospitals, 28 schools, and theological colleges in Bangkok and Chiang Mai,” he described. “The early missionaries secured much land which is now being put to use benefitting the communities, country, and church. It is simply amazing to see how the Presbyterian Church of Christ in Thailand engages ministry in these places through its 1,500 congregations and institutions, for which we give thanks to God.”
Pillay is also attending the 27th General Council of the World Christian Reformed Communion in Chiang Mai, which runs through as well as meeting with the Christian Conference of Asia.
