Selected fellows will spend three months at the University of Dundee, engaging in research projects that support the goals of the UK-China Energy Dialogue. Fellows will have full access to classes, lectures, and seminars at CEPMLP, a globally recognized institution for energy and legal studies. The programme provides participants with a platform for impactful research, supported by an academic supervisor from the University of Dundee throughout the fellowship.

Fellows will work on research projects aligned with energy market reform objectives. This fully funded fellowship is available for professionals pursuing a fellowship-level program at the University of Dundee.

Eligible Nationalities:

This fellowship is open to citizens of China.

Eligibility Criteria:

To qualify for the Chevening Energy Market Reform Fellowship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Nationality and Residence:

Applicants must be Chinese nationals and intend to return to China after completing the fellowship.

Professional Experience:

A minimum of five years of relevant professional experience in the energy sector is required. This includes those currently employed or PhD candidates (excluding those pursuing PhDs at UK, EU, or USA universities).

Academic Qualifications:

A postgraduate-level qualification (or equivalent professional training) in a relevant field is necessary.

Employment Restrictions:

Applicants must not have been employed by His Majesty’s Government, the FCDO, or other specified UK government bodies in the last two years prior to application. Additionally, applicants cannot hold dual nationality where one nationality is British.

Chevening Partner Employment:

Applicants employed by Chevening Partner organizations in the past two years may apply, but they are ineligible for partner awards from their affiliated organization.

Previous UK Government-Funded Scholarships:

Individuals who have received UK government-funded scholarships are eligible after a five-year gap from completing their prior award. Applicants must show clear career progression and leadership in their field since their last award.

Application Procedure:

Applications for the Chevening Energy Market Reform Fellowship 2025-2026 are now open, with the deadline set for 5 November 2024. Below is the timeline for the application and selection process:
