Whether you’re surrounded by wealth or scraping by in poverty, your conscience is always present, nudging you toward what is right. When we ignore its warning and wander off course, guilt follows. That pang in your soul isn’t meant to torment you; it’s a gift from God, alerting you that something needs to be made right. In a world that numbs guilt with pills, distractions, and self-justification, the Word of God reminds us: true peace can’t be found in counterfeit comfort.
Jesus offers a peace that the world cannot give. When we bring our guilt to the foot of the cross, confessing our sin, we receive forgiveness and freedom. Guilt loses its grip, and joy floods in. As Proverbs 10:22 says, “The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, And He adds no sorrow with it.” Don’t ignore the divine policeman of your soul. Listen to that voice, repent, and rejoice in the peace that passes all understanding.
