The Abundant Life with Pastor John Hagee – “Fatal Attraction”

heraldtoday

The Bible teaches us that what seems irresistible in the moment may destroy us in the end. This is the essence of a “fatal attraction.” As Exodus 20:4-6 warns, idolatry leads to devastating consequences. The children of Israel, delivered from Egypt’s bondage, fell into the trap of worshiping a golden calf—the symbol of their past. That fatal attraction led to immorality and death. Like them, we must guard our hearts, for what we worship controls us. Whether it’s money, power, or pleasure, anything that takes God’s rightful place in our lives can destroy us.

David, a man after God’s own heart, fell into his own fatal attraction with Bathsheba, which brought heartbreak and suffering to his family (Psalm 51:11). His story reminds us that even when forgiven, sin has lasting consequences. Don’t let a moment of temptation ruin your future. Confess your sins today, turn back to God, and let His commandments guide your life.
