Shugaland, a real estate technology company that offers digital solutions for property transactions, has expanded into Nigeria to streamline buying, selling, and the management of real estate properties. Shugaland aims to transform real estate experiences by providing solutions that empower agents, developers, buyers, and sellers.

“Bringing this product to the Nigerian market is more than a launch,” Mannie Ijeh,  Founder of Shugaland, said. “ It is a leap forward in solving real problems with smart, simple innovation,”

Founded by Mannie Ijeh and Igho Mukoro in 2024, Shugaland is an online platform where properties can be listed, viewed, and transactions can be initiated or completed, reducing the reliance on physical meetings and paperwork. The platform also enables people living abroad to easily access and invest in their home country’s real estate market. Unlike traditional listing websites that primarily display properties for sale or rent, Shugaland provides integrated tools and features designed to support real estate professionals in their daily operations. These tools help to manage listings, track clients, and handle transactions efficiently, reducing admin work and enhancing client engagement.

Nigerians and other Africans living abroad represent a strong segment of potential property investors. However, a significant barrier is a lack of trust. Many diaspora buyers have heard stories or had personal experiences of fraud, lack of transparency, poor communication, or outright scams when trying to invest in a property back home. The absence of verifiable platforms, standardised processes, and secure transaction systems makes them hesitant to engage, even when they have the funds and interest.

Nigeria’s real estate sector is valued at $91.1 million in 2023, and is predicted to reach $137.8 million by 2030. Yet, it still struggles with inefficiencies and limited tech adoption.  These inefficiencies make it difficult to scale, maintain consistent communication with clients, or offer a transparent and reliable service.

By offering centralised property management tools, secure transaction systems, and client relationship features, Shugaland helps real estate professionals operate more efficiently and build credibility.

“At Shugaland, we are not just building an app, we are building TRUST in an industry that desperately needs it. Our goal is to bring transparency, efficiency, and security to real estate transactions in Nigeria and beyond,” Igho Mukoro, co-founder of Shugaland, said.

With built-in communication features, agents can maintain consistent interaction with clients. This ensures that clients are kept informed throughout the buying or selling process.  The platform also employs secure systems to manage transactions, ensuring that sensitive financial and personal information is protected at every step. This reliability builds confidence among users, especially in a market where fraud and misinformation are common concerns.

Shugaland plans to offer insights into market trends, property values, and client preferences. These insights will empower professionals to make informed decisions and tailor their services to meet market demands.
