Saskatchewan Student Aid Applications Now Open for 2025-26 Academic Year

Applications for the 2025-26 Saskatchewan Student Aid program are now open for students planning to attend post-secondary institutions this fall. Eligible students can apply online to access a wide range of provincial and federal student financial aid options, including loans, grants, scholarships, bursaries, and student loan forgiveness programs.

The Government of Saskatchewan is committed to helping students pursue and complete their post-secondary education. For the 2025-26 academic year, over $46.5 million in direct financial support will be provided to more than 24,000 students. This includes $34.4 million in loans and grants and $12.1 million in scholarships and bursaries.

Through the Canada and Saskatchewan Student Grants and the Saskatchewan Advantage Scholarship, eligible students can receive up to $5,850 in non-repayable funding. Additionally, students with dependants may qualify for up to $950 per dependant annually under the Saskatchewan Student Grant for Students with Dependants.

Graduates who remain in Saskatchewan after completing their studies can benefit from the Graduate Retention Program, which offers up to $24,000 in tax credits. Since its inception in 2008, the program has supported over 85,000 graduates who chose to live and work in the province.

The Saskatchewan Student Aid Fund not only provides essential financial support, but also encourages students to stay motivated, complete their studies, and contribute to the province’s workforce and economy.
