Sequel to the success of the maiden edition of the Port Harcourt Tech Expo last year, the organisers have finalised arrangements to hold the 2025 edition in May.

The organiser of the event and Chief Executive of TechNexus, Mr. Belema George, acknowledged that the feedback from the first edition reflected a growing interest in technology, particularly artificial intelligence (AI).

George stated that this year’s edition, themed “Emergence,” will take place from 27 to 28 May in Port Harcourt City, Rivers State, southern Nigeria.

He commended the Niger Delta Development Commission for its support last year, noting, “At last year’s event, we had 6,053 online registrations and another 550 individuals registering on-site.”

He further revealed that physical attendance reached 4,900, while over 300,000 people joined virtually for seminars, workshops, and other sessions. According to him, this demonstrated “A strong local interest and participation. In fact, the high level of engagement underscores the growing enthusiasm for technology and innovation in Port Harcourt and beyond.”

George explained that to achieve even greater success this year, the 2025 edition has been designed to showcase cutting-edge technologies, groundbreaking startups, and thought-provoking discussions to shape the future of technology in Africa.

According to him, participants can look forward to “Interactive workshops, hands-on demos from leading tech companies, inspiring keynote speeches from global tech visionaries, networking opportunities with industry experts, investors, and fellow tech enthusiasts, as well as exhibitions on the latest in AI, robotics, blockchain, and more.”

Speaking further, he said, “We are thrilled to bring the tech community together again in Port Harcourt. The success of the 2024 Expo was a testament to the incredible talent and innovation in our region.

“This year, we aim to push the boundaries even further and provide an unparalleled experience for all those who attend.”
