PFN DELTA STATE INAUGURATES NEW EXECUTIVES

The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Delta State chapter, inaugurated a new executive team and other State officers on Thursday 26th September 2024, at the Alpha and Omega Center, its state secretariat. The ceremony marks a significant transition in leadership for the organization, with Bishop Professor Willie Abos stepping in as the new state chairman.

Apostle Zilly Aggreh, the national vice president of the PFN for the South South region, expressed his gratitude to everyone who has supported the growth of PFN in Delta State during his sermon at the event. He based his message, titled “And He Put the Wood in Order,” on 1 Kings 18:33. In his sermon, Aggreh paid homage to the late Archbishop Benson Idahosa, recalling his steadfast faith and the remarkable signs and wonders attributed to him. He challenged the ministers present to manifest the Pentecostal power and make a meaningful impact in their communities. Apostle Aggreh also urged Bishop Abos to lead with discipline, fairness, and humility, emphasizing that the spiritual climate of Delta State was now under his care.

Archbishop Joseph Ojo, representing PFN National President Bishop Wale Oke, formally inaugurated the new executive team and other State officers. With Bishop Abos are his principal state officers: Bishop Sam Oyede as the State Deputy Chairman, Bishop Chinedu James as the General Secretary, Dr. Daniel Ebi Kems as the State Treasurer, and Archbishop Sunday Dieruenaba as the Financial Secretary. In his address, Ojo encouraged Bishop Abos to lead with tolerance and to seek counsel when necessary. Quoting the late Archbishop Idahosa as saying in one of the occasions that, “It is a fool that knows everything in full.” He emphasized the importance of collective responsibility and unity within the fellowship.

In his acceptance speech, Bishop Abos expressed deep gratitude to God for the grace of life and to the PFN national president for entrusting him with the role of state chairman. He also acknowledged the support of the spiritual fathers and mentors who have been instrumental in his rise within the PFN. Bishop Abos pledged to work closely with the executive team to further the progress of the fellowship.

He also pointed out some areas of focus. He declared in his words, “I reiterate that Our Agenda and Theme shall be:

“FOCUS FOR MORE EXPOLOITS” (FME).

The following areas were highlighted as the key areas to focus on:

1. The values of the Holy Bible,

2. Unity of the churches,

3. The pursuit of integrity,

4. The purpose of the Church,

5. Increasing PFN membership.

In closing, Bishop Abos appealed for continued support from members, individuals, corporate organizations, and the Delta State Government to help accomplish these objectives.

The ceremony was graced by several notable gospel ministers and top government functionaries, including Rev. (Hon.) Francis Ejiroghene Waive, who represents Udu, Ughelli North, and Ughelli South constituencies in the National House of Representatives; Bishop Dr. Simeon Okah, who is a notable father of faith in Nigeria, ably represented by Bishop Idama; Archbishop professor Solomon Gbakara, Archbishop Arikoro, Bishop Nathan Madeyi, Delta State Governor Elder Sheriff Oborevwori, represented by his Chief of Staff, Hon. Johnson Erijo, and several others.

The event also featured the presentation of awards to key figures in recognition of their exceptional leadership and contributions to the PFN in Delta State. Among the awardees were Bishop Dr. Simeon Okah, Bishop Kingsley Enakirerhi, the Delta State Government, the State Governor, Elder Sheriff Oborevwori (represented by Hon. Johnson Erijo) and others.
