Nigeria (MNN) — It’s been 10 days since United States President Donald Trump was sworn in. Pastor William Kumuyi from Nigeria attended the inauguration and prayed at the Inauguration Praise & Prayer Convocation.
Kumuyi is the founder of Deeper Christian Life Ministry and pastor of Deeper Life Bible Church — the third-largest church in the world with an average weekly attendance of 120,000 people. He also reaches thousands of local congregations worldwide each week in 120 nations.

Of the Trump administration, Kumuyi says, “I personally would be looking forward to a closer relationship so that if America and Nigeria can see how to cooperate [and] network together so that we’ll see an improvement on security and the economy and religious freedom, that will really help Nigeria.”
Religious freedom is a hot topic in Nigeria where Christians in the north often suffer persecution and hardship. Yet, God is moving.
“Even in the north of our country of Nigeria, the Church is moving on and quite strong and vibrant and evangelistic,” says Kumuyi. “We go out [for] personal evangelism, hospital evangelism, house-to-house evangelism, and of course, open-air mass crusade evangelism. Things are really going on.”
Kumuyi also heads Global Crusade with Kumuyi, which hosts monthly evangelistic crusades and has reached over 6 million people. Through this outreach, more than 730,000 people have made a faith commitment.
He asks, “Pray specifically that there’ll be peace and coexistence of the various religious groups.”
Pray also for continued growth in the Nigerian Church.
