Senator Oluremi Tinubu, wife of President Bola Tinubu and National Chairman of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), has emphasized the pivotal role of women in reshaping Nigeria’s narrative through technology.
Speaking at the Women in Tech Skills Training for Women Entrepreneurs in the South-South Region, she highlighted the importance of building a value-driven foundation to position Nigeria as a tech leader in the coming decade.
Represented by Lady Valerie Siminalayi Fubara, wife of the Rivers State Governor and RHI State Coordinator, Senator Tinubu acknowledged Nigeria’s ongoing challenges but maintained that women could play a critical role in transforming the country’s global image.
She urged women to counter societal setbacks like gender bias and underrepresentation by embracing innovation and leadership in the tech space.
Building Bridges Through Technology
In collaboration with global tech giant Huawei, the RHI training program aims to increase women’s influence in the tech sector, enabling them to integrate technology into their businesses and explore international opportunities.
Senator Tinubu drew parallels to Germany and France’s advancements in technology, underscoring how deliberate strategies enabled their success. She expressed optimism that Nigerian women could achieve similar milestones through structured mentorship and capacity-building initiatives.

This training session marked the fifth batch of RHI’s Women in Tech initiative, which has reached over four geopolitical zones and impacted women across 25 states in Nigeria. The program equips women with the tools to enhance their entrepreneurial ventures through technology while providing a pathway to compete in the global marketplace.
Senator Tinubu reiterated her commitment to empowering women as a cornerstone of national development, calling on participants to support the Renewed Hope Initiative in its mission to uplift society and drive Nigeria’s technological renaissance.
