In light of the nationwide strike initiated by Organized Labour, the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) has made it clear that their services will remain uninterrupted.

The National Secretary General of the NMA, Dr. Benjamin Egbo announced that the association has not endorsed a strike action.
“Although the NMA is not directly affiliated with the Organized Labour, they have expressed empathy towards the difficulties that Nigerians are currently enduring”.
“Doctors will be at their duty posts to attend to clients who desire to make use of health services,” he affirmed, ensuring that healthcare services will be available despite the broader industrial action.
The NMA’s statement also included a plea to the government and other stakeholders, urging them to urgently address the root causes of the strike.
They stressed the importance of considering the plight of the average Nigerian and called for immediate actions to resolve the ongoing issues.
By staying operational, the NMA underscores its commitment to public health while advocating for a resolution to the socio-economic challenges that have led to the current impasse.
The association’s stance highlights a dual focus on maintaining essential services and pushing for positive change.
