Primate Elijah Ayodele, the Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has called on Nigerian leaders at the federal, state, and local government levels to heed the warnings he has been issuing, noting that doing so would save the country from an impending doom.
This statement was made during the launch of the 2024/2025 edition of his book Warning to the Nation, celebrating the 30th edition of his prophecies, at his church in Oke-Afa, Isolo, Lagos.
“I warned them to build three towers to end insecurity, but what else do they want? I write letters to some quarters, but they won’t take it. They don’t want to hear the truth, which is bitter. That is why we leave this government to themselves,” Primate Ayodele said.
He also unveiled a compendium of 5,000 fulfilled prophecies from past editions. The 435-page book contains prophetic revelations for different nations and warnings for Nigeria and Nigerians. Nigeria is facing tremendous hardship. What is the church doing to ensure these challenges are addressed?
The church’s contribution is to inform the government about impending problems and how to tackle them. That is the church’s role. Prayers alone are not the solution; they are a waste of time, energy, and resources. Prophets and pastors must direct the government when there is danger coming. I have warned the government about all these issues, like the suicide attacks in Borno. I have it in my clips. I sent it, but they didn’t follow up.
Are there practical measures churches can take to help stop the continuous hardship faced by members?
That is a matter for church leadership. Whether their churches are growing or not is their business. Going to church is not just about listening to the gospel; it’s about addressing the congregation’s needs and pains. Some pastors, instead of being the mouthpiece of the government, sabotage the kingdom. They should tell the government what is needed, but there is no love, unity, or harmony in Christianity, which is killing it.
My concern is with CAN; they seem jobless. They are not fighting for Christianity or supporting it. Instead, they are promoting backwardness.
30 years is a significant milestone. Would you say you are fulfilled?
Not yet. There is more to come.
What can we expect next?
Wait for the next level of prophecies. I don’t need to discuss with the media now; I will act as the spirit directs. Thirty years is just to refresh our memory of past events. It’s another milestone in life, but nothing special. It’s just to appreciate God and humanity.
The federal government is mulling the idea of state policing. What is your take?
State policing will add to insecurity in Nigeria. Politicians will use them as weapons against the people. Even if it comes alive, there will be serious conflict around it.
Many people have criticised you and your prophecies. How have you been handling criticism?
If we have not been getting it right since 1994, we would have stopped. Prophecy is not a literature book; without being led by the spirit, you can’t do the job. Criticism shows I am important. If you’re not important, nobody pays attention. I am not bothered by What do you think will become of this country given the current situation?
Nigeria’s problems are not spiritual and don’t need prayers and fasting to be solved. Religious leaders have become puppets of the government. Nigeria will eventually break up naturally without bloodshed, starting from the North. Nigerians should not think President Bola Tinubu is Nigeria’s messiah. The economy will worsen under his watch, and his return in 2027 is uncertain due to ongoing political conspiracies.
