A coalition of Nigerian technology and creative hubs has come together to form a collaborative initiative aimed at nurturing talent and creating employment opportunities for the country’s burgeoning youth population.

The alliance, known as MSwitch Group, was officially inaugurated on Tuesday in Abuja.

Mr Kadir Salami, Chairman of the group, stated that the initiative became necessary to harness the immense potential within Nigeria’s creative and technology sectors.

According to Salami, the coalition will equip young Nigerians with the tools, skills, and supportive environment required to thrive and make meaningful contributions to national economic development.

The group comprises several entities, including MSwitch Media, Techspecialist, Tiidelab, and MSwitch Creative Hub.

Salami explained that the alliance is committed to assisting young talents and businesses in enhancing their visibility and effectively telling their stories through strategic media engagement, storytelling, and content production.

He added that the group intends to tackle persistent challenges facing the sector, such as limited media exposure, inadequate access to IT support services, and the absence of expert guidance for start-ups and creatives.

“MSwitch Group is a multidisciplinary platform designed to create safe spaces, foster innovation, and deliver sustainable impact across Africa’s digital and creative ecosystems,” he said.

“As tech and creative hubs, we are building a unified ecosystem to support Nigeria’s growing tech and creative industries bridging the gap between inspiration and execution.”

To ensure its objectives are met, the group has established a governing board composed of professionals with expertise in media, technology, and entrepreneurship. Salami noted that the board’s role is to provide strategic leadership and ensure that the group evolves in line with the needs of Africa’s digital and creative economy.

He stressed the importance of creating pathways to meaningful opportunities for young Nigerians, acknowledging that while the country is rich in talent, access remains a major barrier.

“MSwitch Group is fully committed to nurturing creative ideas and talents by providing relevant knowledge and skills that will empower our youth,” Salami said.
