January 10, (THEWILL) – The Federal Government is set to acquire HOG Technologies’ de-rubberisation equipment for major Nigerian airports, launch a pilot project at a high-traffic airport, and collaborate to train Nigerian technical teams.
This collaboration with HOG Technologies aligns with the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development’s vision to modernise infrastructure, adopt global best practices, and ensure Nigeria’s aviation sector remains a key driver of economic growth and sustainability.
The acquisition plan was part of the reasons the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, took the opportunity to visit HOG Technologies, a global leader in runway de-rubberisation equipment, at their headquarters in Stuart, Florida, to round off his holidays in the US earlier in the week.
This landmark visit was aimed at exploring cutting-edge technological solutions to bolster safety, operational efficiency, and sustainability across Nigeria’s airports.
Accompanied by Mr Adedayo Bankole, MD/CEO of Barnksforte Group Ltd., and Mr Bishop Adejube, CEO of International Trade Exchange LLC, representatives of HOG Technologies in Nigeria and Africa, the Honourable Minister, was warmly received by Mr James Crocker, Founder and CEO of HOG Technologies, and Mr Matt Butcher, Vice President of Global Sales.
During the visit, the Minister observed a live demonstration of HOG Technologies’ state-of-the-art runway de-rubberisation equipment, which gave him an insight into the innovative technologies that could address Nigeria’s aviation challenges.
Mr Crocker emphasised the suitability of HOG Technologies’ solutions for Nigeria’s high-traffic and regional airports, highlighting the equipment’s efficiency and sustainability. He also revealed plans to establish a regional training and support centre in Nigeria to foster capacity building and technology transfer.
Speaking after the visit, the Honourable Minister expressed optimism about the potential of the partnership.
“This visit marks a pivotal step in our mission to elevate Nigeria’s aviation standards. The insights and opportunities gained during this engagement lay the foundation for transformative advancements in safety, efficiency, and sustainability”, he said.
