Nigeria and Denmark have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in digitalisation, innovation, and technology development, marking a major step in expanding bilateral collaboration between the two countries.
The agreement was signed yesterday at the Nordic Nigeria Connect Forum by Nigeria’s Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr Bosun Tijani, and Denmark’s State Secretary for Trade and Investment, Lina Gandlose Hansen.
According to them, it formalises a shared commitment to advance digital public infrastructure, boost connectivity, and promote talent development across both economies.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Hansen described the MoU as a direct outcome of Tijani’s recent visit to Copenhagen in August, during which he inaugurated the Nordic–Africa Summit at Denmark’s flagship innovation festival. She said the visit had ignited “mutual interest and dialogue” that quickly evolved into concrete action.
On his part, Tijani described the signing as the beginning of “many, many things to happen.”
