Commander, 12th Brigade of the Nigerian Army in Lokoja, Brigadier General Oluremi Fadairo, has challenged the Nigeria Korea Friendship Institute (NKFI) to place greater emphasis on military innovations.
Brigadier General Fadairo made this known when he led personnel and officers of the 12th Brigade on a working visit to the Institute over the weekend.
Welcomed by the NKFI Rector, William Charles Oluwatoyin, the Army General said the visit was aimed at inspecting NKFI facilities and identifying potential areas for collaboration between the Nigeria Korea Friendship Institute and the Nigerian Army headquarters.
He remarked on the exceptional quality of the facilities at the Institute, highlighting their world-class standards and drawing a comparison to the Tata Institute of Technology in India.
“In an era where technological advancements can shift the balance of power, it is imperative that we foster a culture of creativity and forward-thinking among our researchers and students.
“Imagine the potential if we harness the expertise of engineers, computer scientists, and strategists working together,” he said, his voice filled with conviction.
He encouraged collaborations with leading defense technology firms and emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary approaches in tackling complex military challenges.
The commander concluded his address by outlining a vision for the future, where the Institute not only serves as a training ground for officers but also as a hub for groundbreaking military research and development.
