Nigeria’s Communications Satellite Limited (NigComSat) has partnered with Eutelsat to leverage Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites to improve internet connectivity in Nigeria and across Africa. With a target of 95% broadband penetration by 2025, the country is banking on innovative satellite solutions to overcome infrastructure challenges. The NigComSat-1R satellite, launched in 2011 to replace the failed NigComSat-1, has been providing communication services across West, Central, and Southern Africa, as well as parts of Europe and Asia. Eutelsat brings cutting-edge expertise to the table, having deployed operational LEO satellites in Africa earlier this year.
