A coalition of tech and creative hubs in Nigeria has unveiled a new initiative aimed at unifying the country’s digital and creative sectors to fuel innovation, enhance business growth, and bridge the gap between inspiration and execution across Africa.
The initiative, tagged “MSwitch Group,” was officially inaugurated as a multidisciplinary platform designed to foster collaboration, create safe innovation spaces, and generate sustainable impact in the continent’s evolving creative and tech ecosystems.
In a statement by its chairman, Kadir Salami, it was said that the platform was described as a timely response to the urgent need to unlock the full potential of Nigeria’s tech and creative industries and their capacity to significantly boost the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
Salami said, “The MSwitch Group was born out of the realisation that despite the abundance of creativity and talent in Nigeria and Africa at large, there exists a disconnect between ideas and scalable execution. We are here to close that gap and build a more inclusive and supportive digital ecosystem.”
The coalition, which includes MSwitch Media, Techspecialist, Tiidelab, and MSwitch Creative Hub, emphasised that the group will tackle key challenges such as low business visibility, inadequate media exposure, limited IT support services, and lack of expert guidance.
Salami also noted that MSwitch will empower talented Nigerians and businesses by helping them tell their stories more effectively through strategic media, digital storytelling, and content production, ultimately improving visibility and market reach.
To achieve its ambitious goals, the coalition has inaugurated a Board of Directors comprising industry leaders and experts in media, technology, and entrepreneurship, who will oversee the group’s strategic direction and ensure it remains aligned with the dynamic demands of Africa’s digital and creative economy.
The MSwitch Group aims to serve as a catalyst for transformation across sectors, offering a unified platform where creativity meets technology to power real-world solutions for individuals, startups, and enterprises across the continent.
