Minister Reaffirms Support for Performance Management System – Voice of Nigeria

Nigeria’s Innovation, Science and Technology Minister, Uche Nnaji has reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to excellence service through the Implementation of the Performance Management System introduced by the Nigerian government.

The Minister made the commitment at the sectoral retreat on implementation of presidential priorities, Ministerial deliverables and performance management system held in Abuja Nigeria’s capital.

At the event, Nnaji said that the Eight Presidential Priorities outlined by President Tinubu are not mere concepts rather, they represent a clear and actionable vision that emphasizes economic growth.

“Our Ministry plays a crucial role in realizing these priorities, especially through the advancement of Science, Technology, and Innovation. Achieving this requires hard work, dedication, and strong collaboration across the entire STI ecosystem,” he said.

The Minister added that the retreat offers the opportunity to reflect on their progress, reassess their strategies, and renew their commitment to delivering on the high standards set by the President Tinubu.

The Permanent Secretary Federal Ministry of Innovation Science and Technology Esuabana Nko Asanye noted that the retreat is a pivotal moment for the Ministry to align its strategies, refine it’s approaches, and ensures that it’s Performance Management Systems are robust enough to drive the results needed to fast track the national development plan.

“It is also expedient to recognize that the challenges that lie ahead are quite enormous and require collective effort to achieve our desired goals. As we strive to meet the propitious plan set by Mr. President, we face innovative savvy solutions through collaborative spirit networking amongst other stakeholders in the field that require Whether it is ensuring the timely delivery of critical infrastructure projects complex issues improving service delivery, or enhancing our administrative efficiency,” she said.

Speaking on behalf of the agencies, the Director General of Federal Institute of Industrial Research FIIRO Dr Adamu Jummai Tutuwa said that they are always behind the Honorable Minister to see that the mandate of the Ministry handling technological challenges is pursued vigorously so as to promote Innovation, Science and Technology.
