The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has intensified enforcement of environmental regulations with a series of shutdowns targeting various establishments in Lagos.
On Tuesday, August 27, LASEPA conducted an operation in Ojo, Lagos, resulting in the closure of several businesses and religious institutions for non-compliance with the State Environmental Laws of 2017.
The affected establishments include churches, hotels, bars, an event center, and a recycling company, all found in breach of the state’s stringent environmental standards.
LASEPA’s General Manager, Babatunde Ajayi, stressed the agency’s commitment to maintaining high environmental standards throughout Lagos.
“We will not hesitate to take necessary actions against any establishment that fails to comply with the state’s environmental regulations,” Ajayi said. “We urge all businesses to take responsibility for their environmental impact and collaborate with the state government to create a better future for Lagos.”
The following establishments were sealed during the operation: Rockslide Gospel Church, Unique Caesar & Bar, Recycling Company, New Yorker Hotel, Flex Bar & Spa Hotel, Mountain of Faith International Gospel, Jesus International Christian Church, VLC Donald Restaurant & Event Centre, Zion Believers Church, and VLC Donald Hotel.

Ajayi reaffirmed LASEPA’s commitment to ensuring a clean and safe environment for all Lagosians and warned that the agency will continue to monitor compliance and take decisive action against any violations.
