The Kwara State Government, North Central Nigeria has announced the commencement of its Free Medical and Surgical Health intervention across all Local Government Areas for the year 2024.

According to her, “I am honoured to stand before you today to announce an initiative that embodies the spirit of compassion and service to our community. Under the visionary leadership of the Executive Governor of Kwara State, His Excellency Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (CON), we are thrilled to announce the approval of the 2024 Medico-Surgical outreach activities that will bring vital medical services to the doorstep of the least privileged members of our society. This annual initiative underscores our commitment to ensuring that every individual, regardless of their socio-economic status, has access to quality healthcare,” she said.
The Commissioner noted that the State medical outreach would involve consultations, eye screenings, and surgeries to those in need, adding that the aim of the medical outreach was to address the immediate healthcare needs of the people and restore the hope and dignity of the less privileged. She urged all Kwarans to avail themselves of the invaluable opportunity.
The Commissioner disclosed that over 7000 Kwarans benefitted from free medical treatments the previous year, which included eye and hernia surgeries. She commended the team of dedicated healthcare professionals in the State for their commitment and urged them to provide compassionate care and support during this year’s medical outreach to attain a healthier Kwara.
She then expressed her deepest gratitude to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his consistent commitment to providing Universal Health Coverage to the good people of Kwara State.
The Commissioner also disclosed that the medical outreach would begin at the Kwara State University Teaching hospital in Ilorin West LGA on Thursday 6th June 2024 and urged Kwarans to listen to radio jingles and search for the Kwara State Ministry of Health on social media for more information about when the outreach activities would get to their respective Local Government Areas.
