KAAD Germany Scholarships 2025 for International Students

The KAAD (Catholic Academic Exchange Service) Germany Scholarships are prestigious, fully funded opportunities for students and professionals from developing and emerging countries. These scholarships aim to support postgraduate studies, research, and capacity-building initiatives for those committed to social development, academic excellence, and intercultural dialogue. KAAD collaborates with Catholic partners and university chaplaincies across Asia, Africa, Latin America, the Middle East, and Eastern Europe.

There are three main scholarship tracks: Programme 1 for applicants invited from abroad or studying in third countries, Programme 2 for students already in Germany, and the Eastern Europe Programme which supports students from the Caucasus, Balkans, and Central Asia. KAAD offers not only financial support but also spiritual, academic, and personal development opportunities through seminars, mentoring, and community engagement.

If you are passionate about contributing to the growth of your home country and meet the eligibility criteria, this scholarship can provide a life-changing academic pathway in Germany.

No. While KAAD is a Catholic organization, non-Christian applicants are welcome, especially if they are open to interreligious dialogue and recommended by Catholic partners.

Q2: Can I apply for undergraduate studies?
The program primarily funds Master’s and PhD students. Undergraduate funding is rare and available only through specific pathways.

Q3: Is German language proficiency mandatory?
Yes. A minimum of B1 level is generally required. However, A2 may be accepted for English-taught programs.

Q4: How can I find my country’s partner committee?
Visit the official KAAD website to locate the appropriate partner committee or representative in your country.

Q5: Can refugees apply?
Yes. KAAD has dedicated third-country options for refugees, especially from Syria, Myanmar, and others under special conditions.

Apply now via KAAD’s official website and take the first step toward academic success in Germany.
