Innovation Federal Credit Union No Essay Scholarships for Indigenous FNUniv Students

The First Nations University of Canada (FNUniv) is proud to announce a transformative new partnership with Innovation Federal Credit Union, which will offer $75,000 in scholarships to support Indigenous students over the next three years.

Starting Fall 2025, Innovation Federal Credit Union No Essay Scholarships will award ten scholarships worth $2,500 each, annually, to Indigenous students enrolled full-time at FNUniv. The scholarship program—totalling $25,000 per year until 2027—is designed to eliminate barriers to funding by simplifying the application process for students.

“It is truly fitting that we are announcing this new scholarship partnership with Innovation Federal Credit Union on National Indigenous People’s Day,” said Dr. Jacqueline Ottmann, President of First Nations University of Canada. “This generous contribution directly supports student success and reflects a meaningful act of Reconciliation.”

These scholarships will be available to Indigenous students of all genders and identities across all academic programs at FNUniv. Priority will be given to full-time students from Saskatchewan, Alberta, and Ontario.

“We believe being a student already comes with challenges. Our goal is to make accessing scholarships easier,” said Derek Vanthuyne, Vice President of Strategy at Innovation Federal Credit Union. “This partnership reflects our ongoing commitment to Truth and Reconciliation by creating meaningful opportunities for Indigenous students.”
