Technology firm, IBM, in collaboration with BluDive Technologies, has launched a new application performance management technology, Instana, to revolutionise Nigeria’s IT industry.

According to a statement, this move reaffirms its commitment to supporting and empowering businesses to enhance their IT operations, especially in an evolving technology environment.

Speaking at the launch in Lagos, the Chief Executive Officer of BluDive Technologies, Abdul-Azeez Musa, explained that Instana aimed to address the common challenges of monitoring and observing IT environments.

He emphasised that the increasing complexity of IT necessitated tools like Instana to ensure key applications run optimally to avoid service disruptions, such as ATMs being down or transfers failing.

Musa noted that issues which previously took days to resolve could now be narrowed down and fixed in minutes using Instana’s latest technology.

He highlighted the tool’s value for money compared to other market solutions, stating that it could help optimise operations and applications, ultimately enhancing client satisfaction.

According to Musa, Instana is targeted at medium and large enterprises, such as insurance firms, banks, and finance houses.

He described it as a game-changer for companies heavily invested in IT, emphasising its efficiency, cost-saving benefits, and brand protection capabilities.

The BluDive Technologies CEO also called on the Federal Government to create a supportive environment for businesses, addressing concerns like electricity supply, security, and infrastructure to attract more investors and support industry growth.

He highlighted Instana’s capability to provide real-time insights and performance reliability, leveraging data sources including call data, topology, events, and metrics, with advanced AI protocols to deliver deep insights.

Technical Specialist at IBM, Mohamed Sherif, delivered a presentation showcasing how Instana enhances IT operations by reducing the time spent tracking and resolving issues.

He emphasised Instana’s automatic discovery and mapping of all services, applications, and infrastructure, offering comprehensive visibility across the entire IT stack.

According to Sherif, the granular detail allows IT teams to swiftly identify and address issues, ensuring peak performance around the clock.

He highlighted Instana’s AI-driven capabilities, designed to understand the environment and detect deviations from the norm, providing actionable insights for proactive measures.

Additionally, Instana’s seamless integration with other technologies and legacy platforms was demonstrated through simulated scenarios, showcasing its versatility and robustness, he explained.
