The HerStart International Fellowship 2025, hosted by Saint Mary’s University, Canada, is now open for applications. This fully funded fellowship, led by Youth Challenge International (YCI), offers Canadian volunteers the chance to support women’s social entrepreneurship initiatives in Ghana, Tanzania, and Uganda.

What is the HerStart International Fellowship?
The HerStart Innovate the Future program aims to empower 10,000 women and local organizations in Ghana, Tanzania, and Uganda through training, mentorship, and networking opportunities. Fellows play a vital role in promoting sustainable development and gaining valuable leadership experience.
Available Fellowship Roles
Applicants can choose from the following roles based on their skills and interests:
- Program & Partnerships Fellow – Collaborate with local partners to implement sustainable development programs.
- Communications & Marketing Fellow – Develop content and strategies to promote the HerStart initiative.
- Research & Learning Fellow – Conduct research to enhance program effectiveness and measure impact.
- Social Entrepreneurship Fellow – Provide mentorship and training to support women-led businesses.

Eligibility Criteria

- Be available for a 3-month placement in Ghana, Tanzania, or Uganda
