In a landmark agreement, Hello Tractor and the National Cotton Association of Nigeria (NACOTAN) announced a transformative partnership on Thursday aimed at revolutionising agricultural mechanisation in Nigeria, especially in the cotton, textile and garment (CTG) sector.
The collaboration leverages Hello Tractor’s cutting-edge IoT technology to manage and optimise NACOTAN’s fleet of tractors, ensuring efficient operations, enhanced accountability, and greater accessibility for farmers across the country.
The Country Managing Director of Hello Tractor, Dr. Nnneka Enwonwu, disclosed this shortly after a meeting in Abuja and emphasized the significance of the partnership.
She said: “This agreement represents a bold step forward for mechanization and agricultural innovation in Nigeria. By combining our technology with NACOTAN’s dedication to empowering farmers, we are setting a new standard for efficiency and inclusivity in the CTG sector.
“Together, we are creating opportunities for smallholder farmers to thrive, boosting productivity, and driving sustainable growth for generations to come. We thank our friends at the CLOSA Project, which is being implemented by HSDF, for helping to facilitate this important partnership.”
In a statement, the Government Affairs & Communications Lead at Hello Tractor, Olu Onemola, noted the operational and developmental focus of the partnership.
He said: “This partnership focuses on driving operational excellence and empowering smallholder farmers, aligning with both organisations’ commitment to modernising agriculture and fostering sustainable development in Nigeria’s cotton, textile, and garment (CTG) sector.
“By utilising real-time data, the collaboration enhances efficiency by optimising tractor usage, reducing downtime, and boosting performance. It also promotes transparency and accountability through regular reporting and audits, building trust and improving fleet management.
