Tokushima University Fujii Scholarship 2026 in Japan (Partial Funding)

The Fujii International Scholarship Foundation is now accepting applications for the 2026 Fujii Scholarship at Tokushima University in Japan. This scholarship offers a monthly stipend of ¥50,000 to outstanding self-financed international students from Asia who are currently enrolled in full-time undergraduate, master’s, or doctoral programs at Tokushima University.

This is a merit-based and need-sensitive scholarship aiming to promote academic excellence and foster cultural exchange between Japan and neighboring Asian countries. Students must be regular degree-seeking individuals holding a valid “Student” visa and must not be receiving any other financial aid during the 2026 academic year.

The scholarship supports:

  • Up to 3 years for undergraduate and PhD students

  • Up to 2 years for master’s students
    All recipients are required to undergo an annual review to continue receiving the award.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Be enrolled as a full-time degree-seeking student at Tokushima University (research students are not eligible)

  • Be a national of one of the listed eligible Asian countries

  • Hold valid “Student” visa status in Japan

  • Meet age criteria by March 31, 2026:

  • Show financial need

  • Not be receiving any other scholarships in 2026

  • Participate in official scholarship activities and submit periodic reports

Eligible Countries

Applicants must be citizens of:
India, Indonesia, Cambodia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, South Korea, China, Nepal, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Timor-Leste, Bhutan, Philippines, Brunei, Vietnam, Malaysia, Myanmar, Maldives, Mongolia, Laos, Taiwan, or Hong Kong.

Application Requirements

All documents must be handwritten in Japanese using black ink. Required documents include:

  • Completed application form (designated format)

  • Handwritten essay (max 800 Japanese characters)

  • Recommendation letter from academic advisor

  • Consent forms for recommendation and data handling

  • Academic transcript

  • Certificate of enrollment

  • Copy of residence card (front and back)

  • (Optional) JLPT N1 certificate copy

  • (Optional) Summary of undergraduate or master’s thesis

  • Document Submission Deadline: August 29, 2025
