In a bid to enhance tech collaborations between France and Nigeria, the Regional Economic Service (SER) of Lagos, with support from Expertise France, is hosting a French Tech Bootcamp from October 15 to 16, 2024.

This initiative aims to connect and strengthen the digital ecosystems of both countries through knowledge exchange and collaboration.

SER, representing the French government’s economic and financial interests in Nigeria, plays a pivotal role in fostering bilateral relations and promoting cooperation across various sectors, including technology. The agency facilitates partnerships between French and Nigerian companies, promoting innovation and sustainable economic growth.

French Tech Lagos, a vibrant community of French and francophile tech entrepreneurs, is part of La Mission French Tech—a global initiative aimed at promoting French innovation and bridging international tech ecosystems.

The Bootcamp will bring together key figures from the Nigerian tech landscape and French experts under the theme “Tech4Good,” focusing on artificial intelligence’s influence on business models and societal challenges.

Participants will have the opportunity to enhance their skills, exchange innovative ideas, and strengthen ties between the two nations.

Notable French experts leading the sessions include Nicolas Colin, co-founder of The Family, who will discuss entrepreneurship and the innovation ecosystem, and Julie Lanckriet-Goerig, COO of the Emerging Valley Summit, who will share her expertise on supporting impact-driven startups in Africa.

Organizers highlighted that this bootcamp builds on the momentum from a previous event at the Vivatech exhibition in Paris in May 2024, where a delegation of seven Nigerian tech players engaged with the French tech ecosystem. The Lagos event represents a new milestone in the ongoing tech partnership between France and Nigeria, aimed at deepening connections and fostering sustainable innovation.
