Ex minister of Education, Hon Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, PhD in collaboration with the Young Nigerian Voices has distributed over 5,000 bags of rice and 2,000KG of corn as Easter palliatives to churches across Nigeria.
It would recall that the Group also did the same during the ramadan fasting period to Muslims across Nigeria.
This initiative is aimed at alleviating the economic hardship faced by many Nigerians, particularly Christian brethren struggling to afford basic necessities during the Easter season.
The National Publicity Secretary of the Group , Mr Chigozie Igbo who stated this on Sunday at the distribution of palliatives at with the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Parish Umuduruegbeaku, Onuimo LGA in Imo State, serving as the grand finale.
He disclosed that objective of the outreach was to provide relief to vulnerable Christian communities across Nigeria, foster a sense of unity and support among Nigerians, and encourage collective effort for sustained faith in Christians across Nigeria.
He said , ” The palliatives distribution started in Zango, Kaduna State, with the official flag-off by the National Coordinator of Young Nigerian Voices, Mallam A.A. Usman, the National Secretary, Prince Richard, and the Kaduna State Coordinator, Hon. Muhammad Saeed Muhammad, commending Hon. Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba for his magnanimity in seeing to it that many Christian homes across the country who were unable to feed on that day got succour. The food items were distributed across various churches in Nigeria, and in the FCT, with the distribution at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Parish Umuduruegbeaku, Onuimo LGA in Imo State, serving as the grand finale.
“It’s however petinent to note that as Nigerians face economic challenges, it’s essential to come together and support one another. This initiative from Young Nigerian Voices and Hon. Barr Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, is a step towards making significant difference in the lives of our christian brethren.”
“We believe that every Nigerian deserves to celebrate the Easter season with dignity. Our goal as an organization is to provide relief and share love with those in need at this time of economic meltdown in Nigeria.”
We want to thank Hon. Barr. Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba PhD, for however finding it worthy to support the less privileged across Nigeria. We pray that God Almighty gives him the wisdom and grace to remain a joy giver.
Also, the Parish Priest of Our lady of Lourdes Lourdes Catholic church, Rev Fr Jacob Nwosu commended Barr Nwajiuba for remembering the poor during this Easter celebration.
” We are happy for the unexpected donations of these items by Barr Emeka Nwajiuba whose God has used to put smiles on the Poor women and widows amongst us who may have been thinking how they could celebrate this Easter holiday. This gesture is what our Lord Jesus Christ whose death and resurrection we commemorate today is all about. ”
Similarly, the state coordinator of the Group , Hon Chika Emedo said that Hon Nwajiuba has in collaboration with the group ensure that he always reach the poor Nigerians who have be hard hit by the current economic situation.
” We thank Hon Emeka Nwajiuba who has been collaborating with this Group to assist the very poor amongst our people across the country. We thank Him and pray that the Almighty will continue to replenish his resources. ”
