‘Fear every day’World Watch

Five Christians were slain and three others wounded in an attack upon a Nigerian church.

Christian Daily International-Morning Star News reports that the deaths and injuries resulted from Muslim Fulani herdsmen raiding a Bible study and prayer service July 11 at Evangelical Church Winning All in Kampani village in Nigeria’s Kaduna state.

A resident identified those slain as Victor Haruna, Dogara Jatau, Luka Yari, Jesse Dalami and Bawu John.

‘Fear every day’

Kajuru County, which is the part of Kaduna state where the attack occurred, has been the site of as many as 110 abductions between Jan. 1 and June 30 during Fulani raids, residents told the news outlet. The kidnappings occurred at predominantly Christian villages, including Bauda, Unguwan Yashi, Unguwan Mulki, Makyali, Ungwan Mudi Doka and Unguwar Rogo.

“This is the present predicament of most communities within Kajuru and Kachia Local Council Areas in the southern part of Kaduna state,” said Happiness Daniel, a resident, to Christian Daily-Morning Star after the attack upon Evangelical Church Winning All. “We constantly live in fear every day. We can’t sleep in our homes, and we can’t go to farms.”

World Watch

Nigeria is No. 7 on Open Doors’ 2025 World Watch List of the 50 places most difficult to be a Christian. Nigeria has led the world in the number of Christians killed for their faith or kidnapped.
