Robert Caulfield Graduate Research Scholarship 2025 – Victorian Chapter, Australian Institute of Architects
The Robert Caulfield Graduate Research Scholarship is awarded annually by the Victorian Chapter of the Australian Institute of Architects to recognise and encourage individual architectural research that enhances the profession’s value to the wider community.
The scholarship is presented to the most compelling proposal critically investigating a relevant topic related to the advancement of architecture and the profession’s role in society. Cross-disciplinary and interdisciplinary approaches are encouraged.
The research must be completed within 12 months of the scholarship being awarded.

About Robert Caulfield LFRAIA
The scholarship is made possible through the generous donation of Robert Caulfield LFRAIA, whose international architecture career began after receiving two Institute research scholarships — the KA Henderson Scholarship and the Sisalation Scholarship.
Robert strongly believes that scholarships are vital in helping young architects develop their careers.
The Foundation of the Australian Institute of Architects, a registered charity, manages the scholarship fund. All donations are dedicated to philanthropic initiatives that promote and celebrate Australian architecture.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:

Reside in Victoria and be a member of the Victorian Emerging Architects and Graduate Network (EmAGN)

Be within 15 years of graduating from an AACA-accredited Master of Architecture degree (or equivalent) OR have been first registered as an Architect in Australia within the past 10 years

Meet the requirements individually or in joint submissions (up to two participants), with both meeting the eligibility criteria
Scholarship Benefits
The 2025 scholarship recipient will receive:
