“These be the names of the mighty men whom David had: the Tachmonite that sat in the seat, a chief among the captains; he lifted up his spear against eight hundred, which he slew at one time” 11 Sam.23:8.
In the arena of life, those who stay down after a fall, and enveloped in the shadow of their failures, rarely leave a mark and are not counted amongst the mighty. Such individuals, not minding their potentials and capabilities, allow their setbacks to define their existence. You see, remaining on the ground of defeat means you accept that you have been defeated. It means surrendering to your circumstances, and giving up control over your destiny. Your stories will remain untold, and your potential unrealized. You will become unknown in the scheme of things, and your talents and contributions will remain overshadowed by your staying in the ground and refusing to rise. History and success stories teach us that successful people, those who are counted and remembered are resilient people. Their persistence in the face of adversity earns them recognition and respect.
