DDEA Denmark Industrial PhD Scholarships 2025: Apply Now for a Unique Research Opportunity

The Danish Diabetes and Endocrine Academy (DDEA) is offering the Industrial PhD Scholarships 2025, providing early-career researchers the opportunity to pursue a PhD in diabetes, metabolism, or endocrinology while benefiting from industry-academia collaboration. This program aims to enhance research ties between Danish universities and the life-science industry, fostering practical, high-impact research.

The Industrial PhD Scholarships 2025 offer 2/3 financing, which covers 1,100,000 DKK towards salary and tuition fees for the first two years of the three-year PhD program. The remaining funding will be provided by a collaborating life-science industry partner.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the DDEA Denmark Industrial PhD Scholarships 2025, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Hold a Master’s degree from a Danish university or a recognized foreign university (approved by the Danish Agency for Science and Higher Education).

  • Applicants must not be enrolled as a PhD student when receiving the grant notification (26 November 2025).

  • The principal supervisor must be employed at a Danish university faculty and conduct research in the applicant’s field.

  • A co-supervisor from the life-science industry can also be involved in the project.

  • If the Master’s degree has not been awarded at the time of application, a confirmation statement from the thesis supervisor regarding expected completion is required.

Important Application Rules

  • Only one PhD scholarship application per round is allowed across all DDEA PhD scholarship calls.

  • Principal Investigators (PIs) can host only one 2/3-financed DDEA-funded PhD scholar or two-year DDEA-funded postdoctoral fellow at a time, with some exceptions.

  • PIs hosting other types of DDEA-funded scholars may participate under specified conditions.

How to Apply

  1. Prepare a detailed project description, highlighting both academic and industry collaboration.

  2. Confirm eligibility and collaboration agreements with both the university supervisor and industry partner.

  3. Submit your complete application following DDEA’s Evaluation Criteria and Guidelines.

  4. Ensure compliance with DDEA’s Funding Terms.

Application Timeline

  • Application Deadline: 20 August 2025 (23:59 CET)

  • Grant Decision Date: 18 November 2025

  • Notification of Results: 26 November 2025
