Ahead of the resumption of the new school academic session in September 2024, Rose of Sharon Parish (ROS), under The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has revealed plans to empower school children in primary and secondary schools across Lagos State.

This philanthropic gesture, tagged: “Back to School Programme,” is according to the group, designed to equip children as they prepare to go back to school in the new school year in September.

”It is targeted at children of members of the Rose of Sharon Parish and children from our immediate community in Ikeja GRA and immediate neighbourhood community, Shogunle.

”Items/kits provided include school bags, water bottles, food flasks, among others,” the church group said.

It further said that the event would be held on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at the Redeemed Christian Church of God – Rose of Sharon Parish (ROS), GRA, Ikeja, Lagos State.

Head of women’s ministry of the parish, Pastor (Mrs) Chichi Obiagwu, disclosed that between 1,000 and 2,000 children would be catered for with a major focus on less privileged children around the community where the church is located and also not leaving out members of the church children’s department.

She expressed appreciation to members of the church for rising to the occasion and donating generously towards the items required.

This, she said, had already made the programme a huge success and put a smile on the faces of the children.
