Charles Wallace India Trust Visiting Fellowship 2025 at King’s College London, UK

The Charles Wallace India Trust (CWIT) Visiting Fellowship 2025–26, in partnership with the Faculty of Arts and Humanities and the Global Cultures Institute at King’s College London, invites you to apply for an exciting research opportunity in the heart of London.

This fully funded 3-month fellowship offers Indian academics the chance to immerse themselves in a world-class academic environment, build international networks, and engage with cutting-edge research initiatives.

Fellowship Details

  • Host Institution: King’s College London

  • Fellowship Type: Visiting Fellowship

  • Funding Type: Partial Funding

  • Eligible Fields: Arts, Humanities, Heritage

  • Eligible Applicants: Indian Citizens

  • Location: United Kingdom

  • Application Deadline: 7 May 2025

  • Program Duration: 3 months (during the 2025–2026 academic year)

Eligibility Criteria

To apply, you must:

  • Be an Indian citizen currently residing in India

  • Hold a PhD degree

  • Be employed full-time at an Indian university or research institution

  • Be in the early or mid stages of your academic career

  • Preferably not have previous international research experience

  • Not have received CWIT support in the last 5 years

  • Not be holding any other concurrent fellowships

  • Disclose any pending fellowship applications

Eligible Disciplines

This fellowship supports research in the following fields:

Fellowship Benefits

Selected fellows will receive:

  • £700 towards return airfare to the UK

  • £1,600 per month for living expenses (for 3 months)

  • A workspace at the Global Cultures Institute or Faculty of Arts and Humanities

  • Full access to King’s College London’s library, internet, and office resources

  • Networking opportunities with leading scholars and faculty at King’s

Note: Visa costs and accommodation are not covered, but guidance will be provided for housing.

Fellow Responsibilities

During the fellowship, the selected scholar is expected to:

  • Engage in research development

  • Actively participate in seminars and workshops

  • Present a research seminar

  • Initiate or continue collaborative projects with King’s faculty

How to Apply

Applicants must submit the following documents via email to [email protected] by 7 May 2025:

  1. Curriculum Vitae (CV)

  2. Research Proposal (max 3000 words)

  3. Statement of Intent (describe your proposed work plan and explain why King’s is an ideal fit)

  4. One writing sample (published or unpublished)

  5. Two letters of recommendation

Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
