In Nigeria’s tech ecosystem, a non-profit organization, Anambra Techies, is creating waves of transformation in southeastern Nigeria. Founded in 2022, the initiative has rapidly grown into a community of over 1,000 tech enthusiasts and professionals, offering unparalleled opportunities for training, mentorship, and career development.
Speaking about the vision behind the organization, founder Onyechefula Rosekate shared, “Anambra Techies was born out of a desire to empower aspiring technologists in the southeast. Since our inception, we’ve organized over 20 tech events, facilitated 10 critical job placements, and trained more than 90 professionals in emerging technologies. But beyond the numbers, we’ve built a community that thrives on collaboration and growth.”
The organization owes its success to a team of dedicated leaders, including co-founder Zikora Chukwuka and community heads like Chukwuebuka Collins, Okeke Gift, Henry Udeze, Victor Emeka, Godwin Odenigbo, Kenechukwu Nweke, and Blessing Emejulu. Together, they’ve positioned Anambra Techies as a hub for innovation and opportunity.
Highlighting the organization’s impact, stakeholder Chukwuebuka Collins said, “We’ve created a platform that goes beyond professional development. Our initiatives include tailored training programs for all skill levels, mentorship opportunities with industry experts, and job placement support to bridge the gap between talent and opportunity.”
Collins continued, “By fostering collaboration and a supportive environment, Anambra Techies is transforming southeastern Nigeria into a hub of technological innovation. This region has often been overlooked by traditional tech ecosystems, but we’re proving that innovation knows no boundaries.”
Community leader Okeke Gift praised the organization’s events as pivotal in driving change. “Over the years, we’ve hosted hackathons, workshops, and networking meetups that have left an indelible mark on the tech community,” she said. “These events are more than just gatherings—they’re opportunities to share knowledge, develop skills, and build connections that propel careers forward.”
Gift added, “Our work isn’t just about skill training. It’s about reshaping the narrative of what’s possible in tech for southeastern Nigeria. We’re proving that young talents here can compete on any stage.”
