President Bola Tinubu has accepted the resignation of ex-Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Chief Uche Nnaji amid allegations levelled against him.

Nnaji, who was appointed in August 2023, announced his resignation in a letter to the president, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to serve the nation.

In the letter, he said he had become a target of blackmail by political opponents, adding that his decision to step down was in the best interest of the government and the ministry.

A statement from the president’s special adviser on information and strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on Monday evening, said President Tinubu acknowledged Nnaji’s contribution to national development, thanked him for his service and wished him success in his future endeavours.
