Political commentator Tucker Carlson said he believes his former employer, Fox News, is “anti-Christian” and that his wife thanked God when the network suddenly fired him without explanation in 2023.
During an hour-long interview released Sunday on Turning Point USA host Alex Clark’s “Culture Apothecary” podcast, the two touched briefly on how Tucker’s wife, Susie Carlson, came to believe Fox News nurses antipathy toward Christianity.
“Thank God,” Susie reportedly said when she learned her husband was fired.

“She thought they were really anti-Christian,” Carlson said of why his wife was pleased when Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott phoned him to announce the cancellation of his show on April 24, 2023.
When asked if he agreed with his wife, Carlson said, “Oh, of course,” adding that overt Christian rhetoric “just makes them uncomfortable.”
“They’re not comfortable with that at all,” he said, going on to suggest that someone at Fox News “would be out of there” if they broached the topic of how Israel treats Palestinian Christians.
Carlson has stoked controversy for criticizing some Israeli government policies and their alleged influence on the United States. He recently made headlines for suggesting Jeffrey Epstein was a Mossad asset and for grilling Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, on whether God’s promise to Abraham in Genesis 12 applies to the modern state of Israel.
Carlson also recounted to Clark that shortly after Fox News fired him, reporters from The Daily Mail showed up at his home in Florida to request comment, which he said annoyed him as he tried to offer a diplomatic answer.
“‘I’ve got something to say,’” Carlson quoted his wife interjecting to the cameraman at the time, noting he dreaded her response because she is a former religion teacher who “never lies.”
“F— Fox News!” she reportedly said, which prompted Tucker to phone the editor of The Daily Mail to ask him not to publish her comment.
“I want to be quoted! I think that!” Tucker’s wife said when she found out The Daily Mail agreed not to run her sentiment.
Following an alleged physical demonic attack in his bed that left claw marks on his body, which Carlson confirmed to CP last fall happened two months before his firing, his monologues on his show grew more overtly religious.
Weeks before his firing and 11 days after a transgender-identifying girl murdered Christian children at The Covenant School, a PCA-affiliated elementary school in Nashville, Carlson delivered a monologue on Good Friday that framed transgender ideology as a government-sanctioned religion fundamentally opposed to God and built upon self-worship.
A source with knowledge told Vanity Fair that former Fox Corporation Co-Chair Rupert Murdoch was especially upset by Carlson’s speech at the Heritage Foundation’s 50th anniversary gala just three days before he was fired, during which he presented the nation’s political battles in spiritual terms of good versus evil.
Carlson is not the only former Fox News host who has suggested executives at the company bristle at Christianity.
During an interview with Glenn Beck in Salt Lake City, Utah, last September, Beck told Carlson that he was told to stop talking about God so much on the air, and that his bosses were keeping count of how many times he mentioned Him.
Beck, who is a Mormon, said he ultimately came to believe Fox News was a source of spiritual evil and willingly decided to step away for his own spiritual health.
Exactly three months after Carlson’s last show on Fox News in 2023, Beck broke the story that Fox Corporation was willing to match employee donations of up to $1,000 to far-left nonprofits including The Satanic Temple, Planned Parenthood and the Southern Poverty Law Center.
The company pulled The Satanic Temple from the charity matching portal days after Beck’s story broke, which he claimed multiple insiders at Fox had leaked to him.
“Fox pretends to care about Christians, but some of the stuff they push internally suggests otherwise,” one of Beck’s insider sources told TheBlaze. “Glory holes, trans surgeries for kids and potential donations to Satan are a huge slap in the face to every Christian at the company, and we resent it.”
