Echezonachi, Founder Bonded by Tech has empowered 5,000 Nigerians with tech skills, steadily progressing toward its
ambitious goal of training 1.5 million young people by 2030. For founder Echezonachi Ndeokwelu,technology has always been more than just coding or digital expertise, it’s a gateway to transformation.
Her mission is to help young Nigerians escape cycles of poverty and unemployment by equipping them
with tools to build brighter futures. Through her organization, Bonded by Tech, Echezonachi is turning
this vision into reality, offering hope and opportunities regardless of background.
Since its inception, Bonded by Tech has made remarkable strides toward its goal of training 1.5 million youth by 2030. Initially focusing on Northern Nigeria, where poverty and limited access to education are especially acute, the organization has expanded its reach, creating a global learning community. Its online platforms ensure that anyone, anywhere, can access the resources they need to thrive.
“I was fortunate to attend school, but many of my friends didn’t have that chance,” Echezonachi shares.
“Poverty, early pregnancies, and a lack of support left many bright young people I knew behind. That frustration inspired Bonded by Tech.”Through personal experience, she witnessed how lack of education and technical skills stifled potential.
“I knew I had to do something to change that,” she says. “I wanted to build a platform where young Nigerians could acquire the skills they need to create better futures for themselves and their
communities.”
Bonded by Tech offers free workshops, mentorship programs, tech clubs, and accessible learning
resources, creating an ecosystem where young people can succeed. “It’s not just about teaching technical skills,” Echezonachi explains.
“We’re giving young people hope and showing them that they can
change their circumstances.”
In its first year, Echezonachi organised a TechXSummit at the University of Abuja, digital workshops and
outreaches in Secondary and primary schools and the Internally Displaced People’s (IDP) camp within the FCT. For many young Nigerians, Bonded by Tech offers the first real chance to land a job in the tech field,start a business, or gain the confidence to pursue their dreams.
Through free workshops, mentorship programs, tech clubs, and resources that make learning accessible,
the organization is providing young people with the tools they need to succeed. “It’s not just about
teaching technical skills,” Echezonachi emphasizes. “It’s about giving young people hope and a vision for
a brighter future. We’re helping them realize that they can change their circumstances.”
Echezonachi’s ultimate goal extends beyond the numbers. She envisions Bonded by Tech as a catalyst for
long-term change, fostering a generation of skilled, confident individuals who can contribute to their communities and drive development.
“This is about creating sustainable opportunities,” she asserts. “When young people have the right tools,
they don’t just improve their own lives, they uplift their families, neighborhoods, and the nation.”
As Bonded by Tech grows, Echezonachi is calling on others to join the mission. “This isn’t just my vision,
it’s a collective effort,” she says. “The more support we receive, the more lives we can touch. We’re
building something transformative, and we need everyone’s help to make it a reality.”
